Emergent is currently seeking an experienced database consultant to join the Emergent Professional Services (EPS) team. Successful candidates for this position will deliver outstanding professional services in these areas: database architecture, availability and disaster recovery design and implementation, storage architecture, storage design and implementation, and performance analysis of cutting edge database technologies at our customer locations.
The minimum requirements of the position are:
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience with Oracle, DB2, Microsoft SQL, or EnterpriseDB installations and configuration in a production, test and development environments
- Demonstrated administration expertise in Unix/Linux and/or Windows systems administration
- Demonstrated administration experience with leading storage technologies a plus
- Working knowledge and understanding of database vendor best practices
- Working knowledge of storage and Ethernet networking technologies such as TCP/IP, NFS, Fibre Channel and iSCSI a plus
- Knowledge and experience in Virtualization technologies is highly desired
- Security clearance a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven presentation skills
- Willing to travel
